Inspired by Cheryl Sandberg’s Lean In and a host of events organised for women, with the support of WISTA and The Women’s Foundation, YPSN organised a Women in Shipping and Trade Roundtable Luncheon on 9 May 2014. The event was held at Liberty Exchange and the diverse and distinguished panel included: P.B. Subbiah, Director of HR & Administration at Pacific Basin; Powan Li, Head of the Charterama Hong Kong office; Petty Leung, Managing Director of Applied Weather Technology (Hong Kong) Limited, and was moderated by Brenda Chark, founding partner of Brenda Chark & Co. The speakers shared their valuable insights and experiences in the maritime industry, as well as amusing anecdotes concerning the role of men/women today in the workplace. Following a lively discussion, guests posed questions to the panel as well as offered their own personal experiences.
