On Friday 3rd June, on a sweltering afternoon, Hong Kong’s shipping community was once again in the grip of football fever. This was the 5th edition of the Pacific Basin Soccer 6s which has grown each year. The 160 players taking part came from companies such as Pacific Basin, Caravel, Ince & Co, Anglo Eastern, HUD, Wallem plus many more and yet again the defending champions Pacific Basin had plenty of competition for the crown! The cheerleaders were also in great spirits and after HUD took home the trophy for best cheerleaders last year they upped their game with an even better half time performance. After a tense dance off between Mo Man Tai's (Mourant Ozanne) Cheerleaders & the Anglo Eastern Cheerleaders HUD managed to win the crowds vote! In a tense final, Pacific Basin’s "PB Dragons" managed to defeat the Mighty Mandarins (Stephenson Harwood) 1 v 0 and retain the Cup for the 3rd year. In the plate final we had a surprise new winner with Ince & Co's team "Les Incendies" clinching the title from AESM (Anglo Eastern) in a tense Plate final!
