Hong Kong Maritime Week well and truly upped the stakes this year, plenty of interesting events, conferences and seminars showcasing Hong Kong as the international maritime hub that it is. YPSN (HK) kicked off the week of events by hosting two lively debates on the hot topics of the commoditisation of the shipping industry and whether regulations only penalise the virtuous. Over 100 attendees watches as both sides were compellingly argued by industry leaders including:
Frank Coles, CEO Wallem; John Ramage, COO The Marshall Islands Registry; Hing Chao, Executive Director of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport; Stephanie Leow, Director at Standard Chartered Bank; Wei Zhuang, General Manager BIMCO Shanghai, Angad Banga, COO Caravel Group and our special international guest the Rear Admiral John Nadeau, Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy U.S. Coast Guard. All were excellently moderated by Arthur Bowring. As usual our YPSN members also provided thought provoking comments, opinions and questions to our speakers which made for a very interactive afternoon followed by some well earned drinks!
